My (Kim) perspective on wellness is based on knowing that at anyone time, about 40% of the population in the US is under medical management (on prescription drugs and/or seeing a licensed healthcare professional at least every 30 days). The other 60% is considered 'preclinical' or healthy people staying healthy.
Recovery from any illness takes twice the time that you were ill. Maintaining health takes planning, preparation work and vigilance. Trauma held in the tension of your fascial and nervous systems does not heal over time like a cut, scrape of even broken bone. It requires awareness, quiet, and a daily purposeful practice.
Most people seek some form of complimentary/alternative therapies along their wellness/illness journey. These therapies are ever growing in popularity, especially as we see modern life begin to bow and take note of ancient traditions. Each of these therapies has a different focus, offers a different map, a different view, details at different levels of details within the whole complexity of each person.
I strongly believe in informed self care, science and proactive medical care. I believe it is important to step back and ask what area and to what depth each practice you seek addresses and how it fits into your overall well-being today. There are times I meet a client who is seeing so many healers and following so many programs or protocols that we don't even know where to start. I have been learning, listening, trusting and practicing for decades and offer a framework of practices ranging from relaxing to correcting to holistic and integrative in the realm of somatic, constitutional and mental/emotional therapies.

Health: 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. Not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.'
Well-being: 'Prudential value or quality of life, refers to what is intrinsically valuable relative to someone.'
